I made some snow angels

I made these three cards for the Winter Card Swap over at The Crafty Table.
All of these cards feature some new Itty Bitty stamps from Unity Stamp Company.  I recently purchased these stamps and couldn't wait to use them.

When life throws you snow, make snow angels.

Winter Cheer for a Happy New year!

Daisies and Cone Flowers

Who doesn't love daisies and cone flowers?

This first daisy card is for the A Muse Summer is Blossoming challenge.
It was inspired by a sketch over at Scrapadilly.
It features some DCWV papers and a Gina K Designs Stamp with a touch of Washi Tape.

This card is also for the A Muse Studio Challenge.
This card was inspired by the Kraft with Ribbon challenge over at 3 Girl Jam.
I just love using the crinkle ribbon.
The paper is from Canvas Home Basics and the stamp is from Unity.
I cut out the oval and lacy oval (spellbinders) and used some gold metallic rub-on paste to the black lacy oval.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pop Art Flowers

Here is a colorful pop-art flower card.

The challenge was to use a flower stamp on your card and that's exactly what I did.  I stamped it four times on bright card stock, cut them out, and added them to coordinating squares of color.
I had this card stock for years, back before these colors were hot.
The flower stamp is from Gina K Designs and the sentiment is from Gourmet Rubber Stamps.

I hope you are having a brightly colored summer!

Christmas in August?

Christmas in July August

Here we go!  I made a card with a Christmas theme.  This isn't a usual Christmas card for me, I usually recycle old Christmas card into new ones, but this one is from scratch.

They asked that you use Christmas colors or a Christmas theme.
I opened my scrap paper drawer, and these papers happened to be on top, so I used them.  They are from the DCWV Christmas Stack from a few years ago.  The candies were given to me in a swap.

Well, at least I'm making headway on my Christmas cards.  How about you?

I've been scrapping!

Believe it or not, I've been scrapbooking!  I was inspired by the July crop over at Scrapadilly.
Thanks ladies for the inspiration!  I also happened to be the July winner of the crop's paper prize, so it's an added bonus!

This first layout was a family Reunion 2007.  Todd and I weren't there, but I found the picture while I was looking for some scrapbooking items in the basement.  I thought it went well with these papers.  It features some bling and flower centers that I bought from Lizyjose.  She has some great deals, go check her out.  the paper is from Scenic Route.

This layout features facts from the year I was born.  I added it to my Book of Me.
This layout features Crinkle Ribbon and qualifies for the current challenge on 3 Girl Jam.

Here are two photos of me with Santa.  I have no idea what year they were or where they were taken.  I found them while I was going through old photos.  The santa face was from a swap many years ago.  It is signed "Junebug."

This one brought back memories of my Jr. High School days and of the Chasco Fiesta.  I'm pictured with two of my best friends, Traci & Linda.  We have reconnected on Facebook.

A little birdie told me

That I should make a birthday card.  Today, my inspiration comes from Seize the Birthday #12 challenge.

Here is the sketch they provided:

Here is my card:

The papers are from the Everyday Flair collection by My Minds Eye.

I used the Heartsong stamps from Skipping Stones Designs.

And trimmed it with a bit of lace.

I hope you enjoy!

Feeling Groovy!

I'm feeling groovy using some of my new craft supplies along with some of my very old supplies.

This week I played along with the Mojo Monday Sketch #287.

Here's the card I made:

I used steampunk embossing folder by Darice and embossed a piece of silver packaging.  Recycling is Groovy, right?  I also recently purchased the Silver Studded Gelly Gems Roll-ups (studded mesh) and was excited to use it on a project.  The stamp is from Autumn Leaves.  The background paper was a gift and I don't know what collection it's from.

Feeling Groovy, Gears, and studs, seem to "mesh" together nicely.
Oh, ha ha.  I make such funny jokes.

Okay... during the making of this card, I accidentally ate some crafting products.
I used Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress pad to add some dimension to the gears.  The paper is non-porous, so I don't think the ink dried all the way and it got on my fingers.
Then, I used white glue to attach the studded mesh, I used my fingers to spread it on the back.
Can you see where this is going?  I had a messy build up on my fingers and for some reason, my stupid brain made me stick my finger in my mouth to bite off the build-up.
It tasted horrible.  I thought I was going to die from the bad taste alone.

It's 24 hours later and I'm still alive, so these products are safe to eat, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Welcome Gnome!

Hello and welcome to another handmade card.   I recently got some new 6x6 papers by My Mind's Eye called "Gnome Sweet Gnome" and I couldn't wait to use them.

Here's my card:

The image is a stamp from The Sweet Shop Gnomies.
These stamps coordinate well with the papers.

The ovals were cut with Spellbinders oval dies.

I hope you enjoy my little Gnomie card!

A Heartsong Thank You!

Today, I received some happy mail!

I received the Heartsong Stamp set for winning a sketch challenge at Skipping Stones Designs. Unfortunately they are no longer hosting challenges or giving away prizes, but Katie (one of their design team members) was a sweetheart and hooked me up anyway.

Thank you Katie, I really appreciate it!
Check out Katie's blog:  Our Charmed Life.

Here's the card I made for Katie along with the set of stamps.
Shh... don't tell her, I don't want to ruin the surprise.

The Green Has Been Guessed!

Congratulations Melissa!

You correctly guessed that the background "paper" on this card came from a tissue box.

I think it's from Kroger brand tissues.  I cut the box apart a while ago, so I'm not 100% sure.

Since you won both contests, I combined your prizes in one bag.  I'll send them via special carrier pigeon tomorrow.

I hope you enjoy!

Guess the Green....

Hello everybody!  I'm back with another card and a guessing game.
You can even win a prize... keep reading...

I made this card for the March Green Challenge over at Michael Strong's Yahoo Group.
The challenge was to use green on your card along along with something recycled.  You also have to use one of his stamps - no problem there.... I have plenty.

The stamp I used is the Cloisonné Flower.  I stamped it with a Glue Pad and poured some bright green glitter over it.  This is the first time I used the glue pad and I love how it turned out.

I cut out the stem and leaf from the cardstock scraps after I cut out the flower.  I pop-dotted the flower onto the card and added some other floral embellishments and some bling.
Along the bottom, I used some ribbon for grass.

The background "paper" is from a recycled package of some sort.
My guessing game to you is... What is it from?

The first person to answer correctly (leave a comment below) will receive a small prize from me!

Happy Easter!

I hardly ever make Easter Cards, but I was inspired by a couple of challenges online.

I had this wooden stamp by Inkadinkado and it's never even had ink on it.
Now it does... I stamped it with black Staz-on.
I colored the bunny with a watercolor pencil and blended it with a water brush.

I die cut the oval and the Lacey Oval using Spellbinders dies.
The ribbon and embellishment were from my stash.

The challenges that inspired me were:

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Easter to you!

Come Sail Away

Here I go again, using my new sailboat stamps and sailboat paper!  It's all about the Nautical theme over at 365 Cards:  Day 82 On Trend.

The stamp is from the Patterned Sailboats collection by Inkadinkado.  I love those stamps.

The paper is from the Shoreline collection by American Crafts.
The ribbon is from The Warm Glow Candle Outlet in Indiana. I found bags of ribbon in their clearance section.  I want to go back and see if they have more.

Guessing Game Winner!

We have a winner!
The doggie picture from this card

is from a Stride ID package of gum!   The artist is Oliver Meinerding.
It was too cute to throw away.

Melissa G. was the first person to guess it correctly.
I will put together a little prize for you, Missy!

Sailing, Sailing....

Oh boy!  I was so happy to get some new sailboat stamps in the mail the other day.  I just couldn't wait to use them.

It just so happens that 365 Cards had a color challenge up for today (Day 81).
Guess what?  I just got a new pad of MME Six by Six papers "A Mother's Love" that had the exact colors in it.

I thought this sailboat stamp by Inkadinkado would look great in these colors as well.  I got out my Sharpie and Bic markers and my Nestibilities and got to work.

The ribbon and twine are from The Ribbon Carousel (May Arts, I believe).

Thanks for stopping by.  Leave me a comment to let me know you were here.

Holy Cow!

Holy Cow!  Believe it or not, I created another card.  I'm on a roll this week.
This is what happens when I'm home and am looking for ways to avoid Spring cleaning.

The nice folks over at 365 Cards came up with a challenge to use animal print paper.
Well, I just so happen to have some of that.  I'm a paper hoarder and have just about every kind of paper, ever.  Even cow paper.

I have no idea where this paper is from, I've had it for years and years. I think I got it in a paper swap way back when, when I was a swap-a-holic.  The back is black, so I flipped it over for the borders.

The cow stamp is from Gina K Designs.  The ribbon is from The Candle Factory in Indiana (I bought several bags of beautiful ribbons on clearance there).
The flower was in my stash and is super old as well.  I have a feeling it was from one of those old swaps.  I stuck a rhinestone in the center.

What are some of your favorite really old papers and embellishments?

You Are My Sunshine... My Only Sunshine....

You make me happy when skies are gray....

Oh, that's one of my favorite songs.  I used to sing it to my baby girl Bosco (dog) all the time.

So imagine my joy when I found these stamps from Unity!
I knew right away I had to get them.

It just so happens that 365 Cards has another great challenge!
Day 79 Word Wednesday.  Guess what the word was?

I colored the clouds and accented the sunshine with my Clear Start Glitter Pen.
The cloud stamp is also from Unity.

This is another stamp from Unity from a different stamp set.
I bought it to go with the Sunshine stamp.

Wow, I was busy making cards yesterday!
Maybe I'll make more today.

Just wanted T-winch you a Happy Birthday!

Twinches.  What the heck are Twinches?  I've never heard of them before until I saw the challenge over at 365 Cards:  Day 78 A Matter of Twinches.

Twinches are simply a two-square-inch piece of paper, art, or embellishment.
Well, that's easy enough for me!

I dug through my stash and found The Origins kit from Basic Grey.  These bloomers (felt flowers) were the perfect size for Twinches.

I also happened upon four scraps of the papers that were perfect with just a little trimming.
I found a matching border in the kit as well.

Does the stamps look familiar?
Yup, more stamps from that really old set from Provo Craft.  These didn't stick, either, but I still had some tape left on my acrylic block.
I also had just a tad bit of that border left over and couldn't bring myself to throw it away.

So... do you save your scraps, toss them, or use them right away?
