Bike and bird sighting report

Today Todd and I rode our bikes for 13.4 miles along the Tri-County Triangle Trail. Along the way we spotted four male Indigo Buntings. They have always been my favorite wild bird, and I have always wanted to see one in person. I was very excited to have seen four today! One even danced for me on the trail before hopping up into a tree. We also saw several male cardinals and gold finches. The weather was beautiful today, so it made for a very pleasant ride.

Townie

I finally purchased the orange Electra Townie bicycle that I've been dreaming about.

I took it for a ride on the Adena Recreational Trail yesterday. Todd and I rode on a new-to-us portion of the trail. The bike is very comfortable and much lighter than my old bike. I was able to go faster without realizing it. Todd had to work to keep up with me.

We went on a very hilly portion of the trail that was quite a work-out. Then we had to cross a busy street only to find out that the next portion of the trail was in the blazing sun, so we decided to turn back. It was downhill for most of the way back; downhill is my favorite part. I'd like to find a trail that is downhill both ways.

Trip to Williamsburg, VA

We just returned home from a four day trip to Williamsburg, VA. We visited with Todd's family from Florida. We brought our Wii for the kids to enjoy. It was a successful disciplinary tool, as the boys had to behave in order to play. The photo is from a trip to the park on Saturday. I'm the one holding the camera, so I'm not in the picture (darn the luck).

If you'd like to see more photos, Click on the Williamsburg link on the right.

Butterflies and Blooms

Today, I was lucky enough to visit the Butterflies and Blooms at the Franklin Park Conservatory with my cousin Jillian's first grade class. We had a lot of fun. The group leader that led our tour was a very good "kid talker" complete with exaggerated expressions. She was very entertaining to watch.

I purchased a baby butterfly (a caterpillar) kit. I hope it grows up into a beautiful butterfly.

On our way home, we stopped by and visited Jodi. The twins are really getting big! They are so cute.

Check the photos listed under "my latest photos."

Enjoy!
Ria
