The Thirteen Days of Halloween!

I joined a really fun swap: The Thirteen Days of Halloween! I'm so very excited about this swap because I love Halloween! We've been paired up with our partners and I've already been in contact with mine. All of the rest of you should be very jealous. Her name is Kai and she is really nice and loves to communicate. She calls herself a chatterbox. She is also a very talented crafter, but don't take my word for it, check out her blog. She loves to celebrate Christmas Year Round.

This is going to be FUN!

Marty's Sexy Legs

This is a picture of our six year-old Beagle/Basset mix, Marty. On July 6, 2009, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Today he received Vincristine, an IV chemotherapy agent. Up until today, he only had one leg shaved, now they shaved the other one so they can rotate IV sites. I though he looked really cute and couldn't resist shooting this photo.

If you want to read more about Marty and his cancer, he has is very own blog! Marty's Lymphoma Blog. It has been six weeks, and had we not decided to treat him, he would be very sickly at this point. Prognosis without treatment is approximately two months.

He is doing really well on the treatments. He is acting very energetic and is his normal self. We are so very happy we decided to treat him. He doesn't know he is sick. Today the vet said he was "very energetic." After he came home from the vet, he knocked over his food storage bin and ate quite a bit of dog food... maybe too much dog food.

Yellow and Gray Challenge Card

Photobucket

I made this card for the April Color Challenge (Yellow and Gray) on The Crafty Table message board. If you are crafty and would like to join us, please feel free to sign up. It's a private board, so you must register to participate.

Woof Woof Card

I made this card for the April Sketch Challenge over at Rubber Stamp Chat.

I used two stamps from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. Sleepy Eyed Basset (item #2176) and Big Eared Dog (item 1310).

I stamped each image onto beige cardstock using Walnut Stain Distress Ink by Ranger. I cropped each image and matted them onto tan cardstock. I also used a scrap of sparkly bone paper and trimmed it to a 2" square. I punched a circle out of the center and used pop dots to adhere it to a slightly larger square of dark brown cardstock. I glued a bone button to the center. I adhered each element to the card, following the sketch that Stampo posted on Rubber Stamp Chat.

Easter Cupcakes

Todd and I made these cupcakes for Easter. Todd made the cupcakes and frosting from scratch and I decorated them. I'm going to bring some to work on Monday to share with my coworkers.

These were really fun to make. We were inspired by the Bakerella blog. We didn't find this idea until Saturday, so the stores were really picked over and the little foil wrapped bunnies were nowhere to be found. We used the chocolate cupcake recipe posted at Bakerella and it is really yummy.

More Spring Scraplings!

Here are some more spring scraplings I made for The Crafty Table Swap. I was inspired by challenge #23 on The Cuttlebug Spot. I used a cuttlebug die to cut out the flowers.

Here are some Scraplings that I made for a swap on The Crafty Table! I hope the girls I'm swapping with like them!

Hole in One!

Last Saturday, my father-in-law, Dean Johnson, hit a hole in one on the golf course! We are so very proud of him! Congratulations! That is quite an accomplishment!

I was so happy for him, that I made him this card to celebrate the event. I was inspired by Kazan's Sketch #21 at 2 sketches 4 you.

Happy Birthday!

Monday, March 16th is my friend's birthday. She loves bright colors, so I made this card especially for her. I used a rubber stamp for the flip-flops and colored them in with some of the brightest markers I could find.

Crafty Goings On is offering a set of 72, yes 72, Copic markers. Check out their blog to see how to win. Imagine all of the bright colors and wonderful cards I could color in if I won those!
