Blue Butterfly

I've seen lots of butterflies in our yard so far this year.  They are really beautiful.
I caught one and put it on this card..,

I used one of their butterfly stamps and some twine for this card.

They have a great new set of stamps that were just released AND they're having a blog hop with the Twinery!  You don't wanna miss it, go check it out.

Welcome Summer Sun Flower

It's Memorial Day Weekend and summer has officially begun here in Ohio!
In honor of this, I made this Sun Flower card.

It features their Smiling Sun (5101) stamp.

Yummy Gingerbread!

I love to recycle old Christmas cards and make them new again!
It's a great way to recycle stuff you'd normally throw in the trash.

This card was made for the Go Fish Challenge #17.
This was a color challenge to use browns.  I had fun with this one.

The card base is kraft card stock.  I lined the image with baker's twine and painted the frosting on with Tulip metallic and glitter paints.

TOSRV Album

Here is the TOSRV album I made for Todd.

Cover Page.  I used the sign that Jodi and the kids made for him as the title.
Also, this is him starting the tour in Columbus, OH.
The tag is his luggage tag.

First stop was in Circleville and the second stop was
for lunch in Chillicothe.

I didn't photograph the third stop in Waverly.
This is the end of Day 1 in Portsmouth, OH.

The beginning of Day 2 in Portsmouth.
It rained all day, but that didn't stop any of us.

The end of Day 2 in Columbus, OH.
Todd had quite the fanfare waiting for him.
The envelope holds the maps of the ride.

Todd pulling into the finish line!
He earned the certificate with the gold seal.

Hang in There!

I'm loving the pink and green combo today.

I really love their bra stamp sets.  They're so much fun!

PMS? Me? No way.

I made this card using a digital stamp from My Heart Pieces.
This is the first time I've ever used a digital stamp.
It was kind of fun and worked really well.

I love the pink and green combo.  I'm on a kick with it today.

Mother's Day Mini

I loved making the Graduation Mini album so much, I decided to make one for my Mother-In-Law for Mother's Day.  I followed the same basic pattern.

Front Cover.

front and Back, wide open.

Eight pages pockets for tags.

Here are the eight Tags.  The bottom right tag is a joke from her son, Todd.
He says she always makes "chicken rolled in stuffing."

This was entered in the Stampendous May Challenge.

Graduation Mini

Todd's sister, Kelly, graduated from Bible College last week.  Here is an inspirational mini-album I made for her as a gift.

As you can tell, I had fun using my Bind-It-All.
This was made with one sheet of 12x12 double-sided paper.
The paper and embellishments are from the Basic Grey Origins collection.

There are eight pockets, each holds a tag.

Here are the eight tags with cute quotes on them.

This was entered in the Stampendous May Challenge.

It's coming up flowers!

I just love how this card turned out!  I cracked open a new set of flower stamps and I used a leftover butterfly from my stash.  This card was inspired by the Ginger Snap Scraps first challenge!

The stamps:  Hampton Art "Create Spring" by Janet Dunn.
The background paper is from the Everyday Flair collection; Six by Six by My Minds Eye.
I used a glitter pen to add sue sparkle to the flowers.

Mojo Monday on Wednesday

This is my card for Mojo Monday Sketch #240.

I used paper scraps from the Slab IV (Provo Craft).
I think I'm going to bring that slab back to life, I love the papers in it.

What do you have in your stash that you're bringing back to life?

The Sky's the Limit!

I made this card for the Skippping Stones Sketch #127 Challenge.
I stamped the images onto patterned paper and then cut out.
The stamp set is, of course, from Skipping Stones Design.
The paper is very old, from the Slab IV from Provo Craft - remember those?
The ribbon is some I won from The Ribbon Carousel.

Things are Shaping Up!

I decided to change things up a bit and not be so square... or rectangular...  I decided to be round instead.

I used some goodies that I had in my stash.
Purple is my favorite color, so I really enjoyed using these goodies.

What is your favorite color?

Will Ride for Pie

Todd and I rode our tandem bike on our first long ride yesterday, over 19 miles.  We rode from home into downtown Chillicothe to Carl's Townhouse to have a piece of pie.  Then we rode around a little and rode home.

Todd drives the bike in the front and I take up the rear.  It's odd to have no control over steering or brakes.  I do have some control over speed because I just scream a bit and Todd slows down.  Our street is very hilly and our maximum speed was over 35 mph going downhill.

I can't see much except for his backpack, so I tend to look from side to side and take in the sights that way.  The pedals are linked so we both have to pedal exactly the same.  I can't coast while he does all the work.  I tried taking my feet off the pedals once and I felt like I would fall off the bike, so I learned I can't even do that.

This is one of my side views, looking out over Paint Creek.

So, I just sit behind Todd and ride along, taking in the views.  I talk to myself, and sometimes Todd can hear me.  Like once, he heard me say to a dog that was chasing us, "don't bite my leg!"  I know when Todd can hear me because he starts laughing.

I ended up having a lot of fun!  The pie at Carl's Townhouse was especially delicious.

Yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day, so I decided to scrapbook the event.

I used the Saturday Sketch over at Basic Grey for inspiration.
The papers and embellishments are from the Basic Grey Origins Collection.

What did you do for National Scrapbook Day?

Pink and Orange in 3D

I used the Gina K. Wild Flower stamps by Melanie Muenchinger.
I colored them in pink and orange and used some Ribbon Carousel ribbon to top it off.
This was really a fun card to make.

Spring Brings Butterflies

Hello everybody and Happy Spring!  The weather is turning beautiful in Ohio and I'm happy to see the butterflies flying around.  So much so, that I have decided to make a couple of butterfly cards.

I love their sketches and had fun making this one.

I used paper from the My Mind's Eye Everyday Flair collection.
I stamped the butterfly on the same paper as the printed background.
I used some purple lattice ribbon from my stash.
The stamps are, of course, from Skipping Stones Designs.

Well, I had a scrap of that patterned paper left over, so I had to make another card.
I noticed that Skipping Stones was hosting the CPS challenge, and I thought, "how perfect!"
Here is my card for the CPS challenge #263.
Of course, I kept the theme similar and used Skipping Stones stamps.

I hope you enjoy these two cards.
I'd love to see your butterfly and spring creations, too.
